Heart Surgery Update for Thanksgiving!

Hello friends!

I’m pleased as punch to share I’ll be having my heart surgery just before Christmas! If it goes well, it will be a 4- 6 week recovery. If it ends up going worst case, it will be months. Let’s hope for best case! It all depends on what they find once they get in there.

In the meantime, I’m doing my best to get everything around here cleaned and organized and to complete every project. Some people nest before birth. I nest before each surgery, lol!

To that end, I managed to mow the entire property one more time. Should be the last time of the season, and hopefully I’ll have a few months off. My brother is going to clean my gutters some day soon, and the ditches on either side of the shed should be filled with corrugated pipe and river rock for drainage this week!

That shed/office project began in June and came to an abrupt halt shortly thereafter (last thing we did was pull down the drywall. I did most of that the week after Grapie passed) due to the heart issues and having to take it easy and not work. Funding for projects was out of the budget.

However, I managed to use coupons and get the perforated pipe for half off and my dad gave me the rock for my Christmas gift. WOOT!

I’ll update with photos once it is completed.

I’ve made a couple rounds of gifts to my local Buy Nothing group and the local Goodwill, letting things I don’t truly need, go. It feels good to have less.

My treadmill is still broken, despite many attempts by myself and my brother to repair it. Hoping to figure it out before surgery as it will be nice to have during rehab.

Another big project I’ve been working on, oh so slowly, is nearing completion. I can’t wait to share it with you once it is done. I’ve been taking pictures along the way, and I’m so pleased.

I’m so proud of the work I have done these last few months. How I have creatively worked to make the most out of my dollars. How I have come up with ways to bring in dollars while not working, and for reaching out for help from my community and friends. It’s a growing moment for me. Thank you for your support, your cards and letters especially.

I was having a down day recently. Feeling less than productive, and burdensome. I was caught up in the swirling feelings and voice in my head. I decided to put up the cards you have sent me and in doing so, I reread them and remembered who I was. Reading your kind words of encouragement and support, were everything that day. Thank you!

I didn’t start this website until I had all my ducks in a row. I had to be a good example of what to do, before I could help people.

This year has been a lesson. The moment I decided to go out and help people, I have a year of problem after problem. The universe was giving me a lesson. I don’t have to be perfect to help people. I can help people by showing them how I handle these hardships. How to be creative to get through things and I think, importantly, how to ask for help. I can help, just by being myself. Not by waiting until, “when this, ” or “when that.” But now. Knee deep in hardship and challenge. Wading in the waters of humility and fear.

Thank you for following me on my journey. Thank you for supporting me while the universe teaches me lessons on how I am good enough, right now, as is.

Thank you.
